Title
On 31 December, 2013, the public business entity Adif Alta Velocidad was created as a public body under Article 43.1.b) of Law 6/1997, of 14 April, on the Organisation and Functioning of the General State Administration, through the division of the branch of activity of construction and administration of high-speed railway infrastructures and others attributed to it and entrusted until that date to the public business entity Administrador de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias (Adif).
From the date of its creation, Adif-Alta Velocidad took over the duties assigned to the administrator of railway infrastructures in Railway Sector Act 39/2003, of 17 November, and in its development regulations, in relation to any railway infrastructures that have been assigned or are assigned to the company in the future.
The Statute of the Public Corporation Adif-Alta Velocidad was approved by Royal Decree 1044/2013, on 27 December.
Adif is in charge of the construction and administration of high-speed railway infrastructure, and has other functions such as the management of the high-speed station businesses and telecommunications and energy activities.
